Welcome to our class blog. It’s hosted on WordPress because the blogging interface works well and everyone can access it and contribute to it (see next post). Basically, there was no easy way to host a blog and all of its associated databases on the Langford servers. This is definitely the simplest and fastest way to go.
To get around the tiny storage limit, we can host all our images and other large files on the Langford servers and link to them here. I’ve started that with the ‘Research’ and ‘Site Documentation’ pages up at the top. If you want your photos or powerpoints to be posted here, just give them to me (Stephanie) on a flash drive or CD and I can get them online pretty easily. There is also the capability to add more pages as we come up with more things to add to the site.
The only drawback to hosting our blog on WordPress is that there is a very limited selection of templates, and they aren’t very editable. This blog isn’t the prettiest thing, and I can do very little to change it, unfortunately. But, if you have any suggestions for a new header image or new text anywhere, I’d be happy to hear them.
